Dr. Martin Zsarnoczky

Founder of ACYPRO Solutions & Assets. Inventor of mHealth platform methodology. Researcher, author, and Living Lab designer and operator.

Dr. Martin Zsarnoczky is a Hungarian-born researcher and sociologist-economist whose work sits at the intersection of gerontology, digital health, and applied institutional change. He co-founded the Mátra Home Care Living Lab — CEE's first mHealth-focused elderly care living lab in Hungary — invented the methodology underlying the ACYPRO mHealth platform, and is the author of several books on ageing and dementia care. The work spans academic research, applied Living Lab operation, and commercial mHealth deployment, with active collaborations across Hungary, Poland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Finland, and the U.S.A.

The Living Lab model

A living lab in senior care is a user-centered, open innovation ecosystem where researchers, healthcare providers, technology developers, and older adults collaborate. Technologies and care methods are tested and refined in real-life settings rather than artificial laboratories.

In Gyöngyös, Hungary, Dr. Zsarnoczky co-founded the Mátra Home Care Living Lab — the CEE's first mHealth-focused senior care living lab. The Lab combines a continuous research cohort, an embedded clinical and care infrastructure, and a partnership network spanning Hungary, Poland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Finland, and the U.S.A.

It draws methodologically on comparative Living Lab frameworks from McMaster Canada, and UTWENTE in the Netherlands and regional Finnish institutions e.g. Prizztech, and it serves both as a research instrument and as an operational reference site for the platform deployments ACYPRO supports commercially.

The Living Lab is the practical foundation on which the ACYPRO mHealth platform was developed, and the reason platform configuration questions can be answered against operational evidence rather than against theory.

Inventor of the platform methodology.

Dr. Zsarnoczky is the inventor of the methodology underlying the ACYPRO mHealth platform — a longitudinal, individual-baseline approach to continuous monitoring and clinical decision support that integrates wearable, ambient, and assessment data into a personalised risk and engagement profile for each individual served by the institution.

The methodology was developed in applied conditions over a multi-year programme of work, informed by direct operational practice in the Mátra Home Care Living Lab and by comparative analysis of remote monitoring, decision support, and rehabilitation technology systems in academic and industrial use. Specific technical details remain under proprietary protection.
